Capturing the celebrated title of South African Wine Index overall winner for the second year running, has partly to thank the Kaaimansgat label for assisting in arriving at this notable milestone. The Kaaimansgat / Crocodile’s Lair label was honoured with a stellar 97 point award which brought it into the fold of the SAWI elite performers for 2010.

The styling of this cuveé arises from the calculated blend of 50 % new French oak and 50 % of the blend enjoying no wood at all! It really does work as the vanilla and cinnamon tones of the wood compliment the tropical fruitiness of the unwooded component.

This wine exhibits great intensity of flavour without too much weight. It is impressive in its development of complex taste layers built around spiced apple and citrus with a peachy creamy ending in a long graceful finish. It will continue to develop and expand with greater complexity as it ages.
